By the way, you can also insert your card on the top, but not facing across, and instead facing down - stickers with instructions are ever more frequent….

Interesting study, would have liked to hear your conclusion at the end. The blacking out of “low value” space was shocking for a few of those sites, makes me wonder if they would get more traffic freeing up the home page (or click through to content.)

No sooner do I praise them in “Technorati Keeps Its Front End Up” does the whole site go down, now it is up/down a couple times a week. It seems like their back end system is going down periodically causing login failures — they won’t last long if they continue to be unreliable.

This is like the storage-boxes for 1.44 MB diskettes. Every one of them was different, but none worked especially well. Too many manufacturers, and no real feedback-loop.

Hey Vito…Technorati failing…no surprises there. With a name like that who can blame the small dwarves that live inside our computers tinkering. Still I find it hard to understand what Technorati does and how it really works, the site is self-assuming (but maybe I am dim)…good to see your blog I just added you to my blogroll - thanks!
