Technorati fails on login failure
Last night I was going to visit the Technorati site so manage some blogs I have registered over there. It was a first time login with the new laptop, and in the old I had stored the password in Firefox password manager. Hence I tried a password being unsure if it was the correct one.
After typing in username and password I clicked on the login button (incidentally, the login’s embedded flow is very nice) - or sign in, as they call it at Technorati - and I got this screen:
Did you get perplexed? I certainly did! My first reaction was plain puzzled at the sight of a join form. After recovering my wits though, I begun scanning the page form something that made sense, and after a much longer while that I wish to remember, I saw this:
Now, the key system feedback was really hard to find ,and I cannot imagine the reason why it should be so hidden. I won’t suggest improvements to the UI, but I wanted to share this “complaint”: all in all, I’d say Technorati fails on login failure ![]()

Hey Vito…Technorati failing…no surprises there. With a name like that who can blame the small dwarves that live inside our computers tinkering. Still I find it hard to understand what Technorati does and how it really works, the site is self-assuming (but maybe I am dim)…good to see your blog I just added you to my blogroll - thanks!
No sooner do I praise them in “Technorati Keeps Its Front End Up” does the whole site go down, now it is up/down a couple times a week. It seems like their back end system is going down periodically causing login failures — they won’t last long if they continue to be unreliable.
Best,
Justin
